Privacy Policy
Go Karts Go Pty Ltd (ABN 91 611 608 041, ACN 611 608 041) (“Go Karts Go“, “we“, “us“, “our“)
Last updated: 7 August 2026
Go Karts Go operates go-kart racing centres and related booking, membership and racing-results services, including the Go Karts Go driver app. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, store and protect your personal information, and how you can access it, correct it or complain. We handle personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs).
By signing on, making a booking, or using our services, app or website, you consent to your personal information being handled as described here.
Our centres are monitored by CCTV, and some cameras also record audio. Signs are displayed at the entrances and in the areas concerned. If you come to one of our centres — whether you are driving, waiting, watching or just calling in — you may be recorded, including your voice. Section 7 explains what we do with that footage and how long we keep it.
1. The centres this policy covers
This policy applies across all Go Karts Go centres operated by us and our related entities:
| Centre | Address |
|---|---|
| Go Karts Go Broadmeadow | 294 Turton Road, Broadmeadow NSW 2292 |
| Go Karts Go Hunter Valley | 202 Neath Road, Kearsley NSW 2325 |
| Go Karts Go Nelson Bay | 778 Marsh Road, Bobs Farm NSW 2316 |
We operate our centres as one business. Personal information collected at one centre may be shared with and used by our other centres so that your driver profile, membership, racing history and bookings work across all of them (see section 8).
2. What personal information we collect
Depending on how you interact with us, we may collect:
- Identity & contact details — name, date of birth, gender, phone number, email address and postal/residential address.
- A photograph of the driver, taken at sign-on for identity verification at the track. For a driver under 18, we also collect the parent/guardian’s details and (where taken) photograph, and rely on their consent.
- Licence / membership details — your Go Karts Go customer ID / racing licence number, its issue and expiry, and membership status.
- Racing & visit information — the karts you drive, lap times, results, visit history, rankings, achievements, loyalty points and related performance data.
- Booking information — booking dates, times, party size, event type, deposits, and communications about your booking.
- CCTV / surveillance footage — images of people in and around our centres, captured by our security cameras, and audio (voices and conversations) where a camera also records sound (see section 7).
- Transaction information — purchases, deposits, refunds and coupons. Card payments are processed on our EFTPOS terminals by our payment provider; we do not store full card numbers.
- Marketing preferences — whether you have opted in to receive marketing, and whether you asked for a driver app invitation.
- Driver app account details — the email address and password you use to create and sign in to your app account. If you turn on fingerprint, face or passkey sign-in, that is handled entirely by your own device’s security — we never receive your fingerprint or face data.
- Device & technical information — a push-notification token if you turn notifications on, and basic technical data (for example IP address) needed to run our website and app securely.
- Website & communications — information you give us by email, phone, our website or online forms, and records of the messages we send you.
We only collect sensitive information (such as a photograph, or health information you volunteer for safety reasons) where it is reasonably necessary for our functions and, where required, with your consent.
3. How we collect it
We collect personal information:
- directly from you at sign-on (our in-centre kiosk or the phone sign-on), when you make a booking, buy a gift voucher, join as a member, or contact us;
- from a parent or guardian when they sign a minor on;
- through our website and driver app;
- through CCTV cameras — some of which also record audio — when you are at one of our centres (see section 7); and
- as it is generated by your activity with us (e.g. lap times, visits, transactions).
Where practical we collect information directly from you. If you don’t provide the information we ask for, we may not be able to let you drive, hold your booking, issue a licence, or provide certain services.
4. Why we collect and use it
We use personal information to:
- register and identify you at the track and verify it is really you before you drive (including the identity photo);
- issue and manage your racing licence and membership, including the digital licence and check-in barcode in the driver app;
- take and manage bookings, deposits, payments, refunds and gift vouchers;
- record and show lap times, results, rankings, achievements and racing history (including on in-centre timing screens, leaderboards and, where you use it, the driver app);
- operate safety and age-appropriate kart allocation;
- keep our venues, drivers, spectators and staff safe and secure, including through CCTV (see section 7);
- run loyalty, championships and events;
- send you service messages (e.g. booking confirmations, receipts, results, app account confirmations, password resets and app invitations) — these are not marketing and are sent regardless of marketing preference;
- send you marketing (offers, news, birthday messages) only if you have opted in, and you can unsubscribe at any time (see section 9);
- respond to your enquiries and complaints; and
- meet our legal, insurance and record-keeping obligations.
5. The Go Karts Go driver app
The driver app (and its web version) lets you see your lap times, results, ranking, rewards and digital licence. It is deliberately built to keep as little personal information in the cloud as possible:
- The app shows your name, your racing statistics, and your licence and membership details. Your date of birth, phone number and home address are not shown in the app. Your email address appears only as the account you are signed in as.
- Each centre chooses how much of your racing information the app shows — for example visits, best lap, ranking, achievements, recent sessions, rewards and licence expiry can each be switched on or off. These settings only ever affect racing and membership information; they cannot reveal your date of birth, phone number or home address.
- Gift vouchers. Where a gift voucher appears in the app, we may show the buyer’s name — by default their first name and last initial, for example “Bob S.” — and, if the centre has turned it on, the gift message they wrote. Each centre chooses whether the full name, part of it, or none of it is shown.
- To connect your app account to your racing record, we compare a one-way cryptographic code made from your details rather than storing those details in the cloud. A breach of the cloud service would not reveal your date of birth, phone number or email address.
- Access controls mean you can only ever see records linked to your own account.
- The app stores some information on your device — your sign-in session and your preferences — so it works smoothly and keeps you signed in. Signing out or clearing the app’s data removes it.
- You can ask us to delete your app account at any time (see section 12). Deleting your app account does not delete your driver record at the centres, which we keep as described in section 11.
6. Children
Many of our drivers are children. Where a driver is under 18:
- a parent or guardian completes sign-on, provides the child’s information and the driver agreement, and consents to the collection and use of the child’s information (including their photograph) as described in this policy;
- we use the child’s information only for the purposes above; and
- a parent or guardian may access, correct or ask us to delete the child’s information (see sections 11 and 12).
7. Surveillance (CCTV and audio)
We operate closed-circuit television (CCTV) and security cameras at and around our centres. These cameras record images of people in public and operational areas of the venue — for example entries, reception and counter areas, the track and pit areas, and car parks.
Some of our cameras also record audio. Where they do, they capture the voices and conversations of people in the area covered by that camera. Our signs tell you where audio as well as video recording is in progress, and the driver agreement you sign at sign-on records your consent to being recorded, including your voice.
We use CCTV and audio footage to:
- keep drivers, spectators and staff safe, and monitor track and venue safety;
- prevent, detect and investigate incidents, accidents, injuries, theft, damage and antisocial behaviour;
- support insurance, incident and dispute resolution; and
- meet our work health and safety and security obligations.
Signs are displayed at our centres to let you know when you are entering an area covered by CCTV, and where audio is also recorded. Footage is stored securely and accessed only by authorised personnel who need it. We keep footage only for as long as we reasonably need it for the purposes above — typically around 30 days on a rolling basis, after which it is automatically overwritten or securely deleted — and longer only where particular footage is retained for a specific incident, claim, investigation or legal requirement. We may disclose footage to police, insurers, our advisers or other authorities where required or permitted by law, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim (see section 8).
Our surveillance of employees is also handled in accordance with the Workplace Surveillance Act 2005 (NSW), and staff are separately notified of workplace surveillance.
8. Who we share it with
We may disclose your personal information to:
- Our other Go Karts Go centres and related entities, so your profile, membership, licence, racing history and bookings work across all our centres.
- Service providers who help us run the business, only for that purpose and under confidentiality obligations — our SMS and email providers, our hosting and data platform providers, our push-notification provider, our payment/EFTPOS provider, our accounting provider, and our IT, backup and support providers.
- Others where you have asked us to or where reasonably expected.
- Authorities, regulators, insurers or advisers where required or permitted by law, or to establish, exercise or defend a legal claim.
We do not sell your personal information.
9. Marketing and how to opt out
We only send marketing to people who have opted in. Every marketing email includes a working unsubscribe link, and you can also change your preference in the driver app’s settings, reply to any message, tell us at the centre, or contact us (section 14) to opt out at any time. Opting out of marketing does not stop essential service messages such as booking confirmations and receipts.
10. Overseas disclosure
Some of our service providers (for example, cloud hosting, email, push notification or SMS providers) may store or process data on servers located outside Australia (including in the United States and other countries). Where we disclose personal information to an overseas recipient, we take reasonable steps to ensure it is handled consistently with the APPs.
11. Security and retention
We take reasonable steps to protect your personal information from misuse, loss, and unauthorised access, modification or disclosure. These include access-controlled staff systems, encryption of data in transit and at rest on our devices, one-way cryptographic codes instead of stored personal details where we can use them (see section 5), access controls that limit each app account to its own records, secured off-site backups, and limiting access to those who need it. No system is perfectly secure, but we work to protect your information and to respond appropriately if a problem arises.
We keep personal information only for as long as we need it for the purposes above or as required by law (for example, financial and insurance records), and then take reasonable steps to de-identify or securely destroy it. CCTV footage retention is described in section 7.
12. Accessing and correcting your information
You can ask us for a copy of the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it if it is wrong or out of date, or ask us to delete your driver app account. Contact us using the details in section 14. We will respond within a reasonable time. There is normally no charge, though we may recover reasonable costs for larger requests. We may need to verify your identity first, and for a child’s information we deal with the parent or guardian.
13. Complaints
If you think we have mishandled your personal information, please contact us first (section 14) and we will try to resolve it. If you are not satisfied, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au or 1300 363 992.
